Purpose of Position
Perform all of the functions of an Administrative Law Judge in the Appeals Tribunal in researching, presiding over and making decisions regarding Unemployment Insurance benefits, along with Tax appeals and other related matters. The incumbent will be required to collect, organize and analyze factual information in order to determine the legal effect of that information in the context of applicable federal and state laws, draft clear and concise written decisions in a timely manner, consider and rule upon admissibility of evidence/testimony and consider and rule upon objections, motions, and other re! quests for relief by interested parties.
This positio! n is a Pay Band 70.
Classification Description:
Administrative Law Judges, Adjudicator-Operational
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Social Services or Labor Relations and four (4) years of experience in conducting administrative hearings, employment placement, claims adjudication and/or investigations. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
