Purpose of Position
The lawyer position is responsible for providing counsel to indigent persons charged with crimes in the New Mexico State Courts.
This position is a Pay Band 90.
Classification Description:
General Manager I â€" Public Defender
Minimum Qualifications:
Current license as an Attorney issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or eligible for a limited license issued by the Supreme Court and six (6) years of experience as a practicing attorney.
Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Statutory Requirements:
Current license as an Attorne! y issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or eligible for li! mited license issued by the Supreme Court of NM. Copy of current license must be presented at time of hire.
