We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal with Medical Malpractice / Civil litigation exper! ience for a well established law firm in Albuquerque, NM.
Duties will include: Perform client billing, time reports and expense reports. Coordinate conferences, meetings and appointments for several attorneys. Typing and editing of legal documents. Set up and maintain files. Proofread and redline work for accuracy of copy, format, grammar, punctuation and syntax. Legal research; case law, medical records, summaries and more.
Job requirements:
5 years minimum previous litigation (Medical Malpractice) experience required
Experience requesting medical records and preparing in depth medical summaries
Discovery and Trial Notebook preparation
Top-notch written and verbal communication skills along with effective interaction skills
Must have in depth understanding of legal terms and NM court rules & procedures
E-filing experience
Gathering appropriate information associated with active case's to include but not limited to! : seeking witnesses, planning the pleading, acquiring affidavi! ts, etc
Excellent proofreading and word processing abilities
Researching skills
Billing
Advanced Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Typing 55+ WPM
This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate $40K is the starting annual salary
