Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to support the Office of General Counsel for the Public Education Department (PED), especially in the areas of Charter Schools and Federal Programs, support for the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), and Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

This position is a Pay Band 80.

Classification Description:
Lawyers-Advanced

Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited school of law and five (5) years of experience in the practice of law.

Statutory Requirements:
Licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of New Mex! ico or qualified to apply for limited practice license, which ! requires graduation from an accredited school of law, licensure (in good standing) in another state and sitting for the next eligible State Bar exam.
