Purpose of Position:
Position will represent New Mexico Department of Transportation in construction claims and litigation in State and Federal court, in construction and procurement-related administrative hearings, and in other practice areas as assigned by the Deputy General Counsel.

Preference will be given to those applicants with litigation in construction law, or governmental entity representation in complex civil litigation matters. Also experience in environmental law, public works procurement or transportation planning.

This position is a Pay Band 80.

Classification Description:
Lawyers-Advanced

Minimum Qualifications:
Ju! ris Doctorate Degree from an accredited school of law and five! (5) years of experience in the practice of law. Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.

Statutory Requirements:
Licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or qualified to apply for limited practice license, which requires graduation from an accredited school of law, licensure (in good standing) in another state and sitting for the next eligible State Bar exam.
