We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal with litigation ! experience in Bankruptcy for a well established law firm in Albuquerque, NM.
As a Paralegal in Bankruptcy you need to be well-versed in every aspect that is relevant to bankruptcy law.
The bankruptcy paralegal will work with the debtor and attorney by investigating all the said debts involved with the case.
May be responsible for researching credit reports, finding the necessary information about transactions, loans or debts owed and speaking with creditors.
Accountable in making sure that all creditors are notified of bankruptcy proceedings, hearings, and court dates.
Also ensure that any garnishment orders are served and creditors are aware of the actions to prevent them from taking further actions to collect the debts owed.
Setting up the Documents. Set up the hearings, make notations of the interviews and investigative procedure, speaking with the creditors and recording and preparing all documents that may be includ! ed.
Monitor the progress of, and maintain corporate a! nd project documents and databases for, major cases and proceedings involving the Company, other utilities or entities; requests decisions, exhibits, transcripts and briefs; informs Counsel of pertinent legal decisions and developments
Review, analyze, and prepare responses to subpoenas, interrogatories, hearing and deposition transcripts and other legal documents, as assigned; maintain legal files
Skills and Responsibilities;
Excellent writing skills, grammar, vocabulary, punctuation
Research, computer skills and know the proper way to make citations for references cited
Great communication ethics and tact
Self-motivated and self-directed
Knowledge of different types of bankruptcies
Minimum Requirements:
4-5 years previous litigation experience required in real estate, bankruptcy, foreclosure
Thorough knowledge of New Mexico's Bankruptcy code and rules
Candidates must have excellent Document Management skill! s
Top-notch written and verbal communication skills
Excellent proofreading and word processing abilities
Advanced Microsoft Office, Outlook
This is a temp to hire position for the right candidate $36k-$44K annually
