Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for providing counsel to indigent persons charged with crimes in New Mexico state courts.
This position is a Pay Band 85.
Classification Description:
Public Defender 4
Minimum Qualifications:
Current license as an Attorney issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or eligible for limited license issued by NM Supreme Court and four (4) years of experience as a practicing attorney. Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Statutory Requirements:
Current license as an Attorney issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or eligible to practice with a ! limited license issued by the NM Supreme Court. Copy of curren! t license must be presented at time of hire.
