Job Description Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Director, Gebze for GE Grid Solutions will manage the daily manufacturing operations within the frame of budget, continuous improvement (based on Lean manufacturing principles) and policies approved by the Product Line. The incumbent will ensure reliability and consistency on the production line to deliver service, quality and objectives.The scope of this position includes the High Voltage and Medium Voltage Power Transformer lines, Tank Factory and Maintenance Management as well as the Manufacturing Engineering functions.
- Maintenance Management: driven by budget control and service excellence as well as managing third party stakeholders.
- Manufacturing Engineering: driven by developing process, cost out initiatives and focus on product quality and optimization.
The position provides high level of operational autonomy, leadership and judgment required to achieve outcomes required and is a day-to-day activity.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Interprets complex internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices in areas of operations, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering
- Ensuring sufficient capacity exists to achieve customer commitments
- Driving production team towards execution of business goals using lean manufacturing methodology to continuously improve products, processes and services.
- Driving product quality and improving customer metrics
- Through his/her management team, influence and monitor the entire manufacturing population.
- Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
- Offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters
- Interface with Union representatives on a routine basis in order to maintain harmony within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering
- Minimum 12 years of experience in manufacturing with strong leadership skills
- Minimum 10 years of direct people management experience within a manufacturing site in energy and/or power sectors
- Experience in managing multi-functional teams.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge
- Experience with energy business products, specifically high voltage products.
- Fluency in Turkish and English
Desired Characteristics
- MBA Degree is a plus
- Strong project management, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to apply statistical methods for process improvement.
- Prior customer interface experience
- Understanding customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends and the competitive landscape while considering impact of business activities and decisions on the external environment
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, energize and inspire others
- Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.
- Some knowledge in serial products manufacturing practices
- AP or other ERP knowledge
