Post by Jobing - Position Summary Under general direction of the YSC Behavioral Health Services Manager, will provide lead work duties of the clinicians and case mangers inside the ! facility; will also provide clinical treatment programs; direction and guidance to the staff and residents at the center. Duties and Responsibilities Supervise facility mental health personnel, which typically includes recommendation for hiring, training, work allocation, problem resolution and performance reviews. Responsible for clinical oversight of the services as well as to provide supervision support and consultation to all YSC direct service staff. Provide guidance to staff by ensuring case management planning, review, distribution and balance workloads; answer questions related to departmental policies and procedures.

Interview and provide evaluations, assessments and mental status examinations of clinic patients as needed and develop individualized treatment plans. Advise staff on the mental conditions and/or special requirements of individual juvenile clients. Work with staff on performing case management activities involving complex and problem cases; as! sess individual and family needs; develop appropriate service ! and/or treatment plans and provide referral services. Ensure adequate care and treatment of all residents.

Assist the manager in formulating plan initiatives, objectives, procedures and guidelines of the assigned area of responsibility. Develop and implement procedures and guidelines for YSC mental health staff and residents. Provide individual, family and group counseling to residents as needed. Facilitate communication with clinicians and service providers with outside agencies to coordinate services as needed.

Responsible for clinical oversight of the services as well as to provide supervision support and consultation to all YSC direct service staff. Maintain clinical records and write reports as necessary. Minimum Qualifications: Masters in Social Work, at the Independent level (LISW) OR Masters in Counseling with a Licensed Practicing Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Four (4) years postâ€"graduate, supervised experience in individual and family therapy with seriously emotionally disturbed and conductâ€"disordered adolescents in a clinical environment, including (2) two years in a supervisory or management capacity. Knowledge of New Mexico rules and regulations and professional code of ethical conduct for social workers and licensed clinical counselors.

Experience in diagnosis, evaluation, treatment planning and psychotherapy. Ability to work in a stressful environment and/or hostile situations on a daily basis. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively in En! glish both orally and writing.

Ability to make critical decisi! ons regarding the mental conditions of new resident(s). Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekend coverage. Supplemental Information: Screening and Compliance The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following: Employee must successfully complete the postâ€"offer employment medical examination. Must pass a background investigation. Must have a valid New Mexico driver's license by employment date and retain a valid NM driver's license while employed in this position. Working Conditions Duties are performed indoors in a temperatureâ€"controlled environment. Duties are performed on an even, usually dry surface, which may be concrete, tile, or carpet.

Work hazards include the possibility of personal injury from violent residents. Duties are performed in a locked facility. Employee may be required to work flexible schedules. Equipment, Tools! and Materials Utilizes computers and communication equipment on a daily basis.

Materials and products handled include various forms and office supplies. Must be able to listen to residents and provide counseling to time in areas involving their daily living skills, social skills, work/study habits and interpersonal relationships. Must be able to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures of YSC operations. Must be able to work and communicate effectively with different kinds of people, in a variety of situations. Must be able to communicate work assignments and supervise the work of others.

Physical Functions Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods, or from six to seven hours per day. Must be able to work in a variety of positions, including crouching and kneeling on an occasional basis. Must be able to assist in the physical restraint of residents as needed. Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Must be able to ! bend at the waist and twist/rotate waist as needed on a frequent basis. Must be able to use hands and fingers to grasp/manipulate equipment, materials, and residents, in a bilaterally coordinated manner in performing essential duties. Must be able to react quickly to unpredictable situations with residents, which may require rapid or heavy physical exertion.
