Areas of Practice: 5+ Years Medical Malpractice
Years of Experience: 10+ Legal
Pay Rate: DOE - Low to mid 40,000s
Duties:
Editing and Finalizing Correspondence, Pleadings and Discovery
E-Filing legal documents with online NM state and federal court systems
Calendaring depositions, mediations, hearings, etc. via practice management legal software
Communicating with opposing counsel and court personnel (as requested by attorney)
Reviewing incoming mail and aligning with corresponding case
Transferring scanned files to folders on the server
Preparing binders for depositions, mediations, arbitrations and hearings
Some Receptionist Duties, including answering the phone
Experience requesting medical records and preparing in depth medical summaries
Top-notch written and verbal communication skills along with effective interaction skil! ls
Must have in depth understanding of legal terms and NM ! court rules & procedures
Gathering appropriate information associated with active case's to include but not limited to: seeking witnesses, planning the pleading, acquiring affidavits, etc
Excellent proofreading and word processing abilities
Experience Required:
10 years medical malpractice
Experience with e-filing in NM state and federal courts
Experience using legal billing/practice management software
Excellent computer and word processing skills
Organized and highly skilled with attention to detail and follow through
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task and handle high volume work
Ability to support highly experienced attorneys
