Position Summary:
This is an off campus work study position located at the Albuquerque Bar Association (400 Gold Ave SW). The Albuquerque Bar Association provides the community with a valuable Legal Referral Service(LRS). The Legal Referral Intake Specialist interviews clients by telephone to determine eligibility for services and to identify legal issues and independently direct the client to the appropriate resource.

Job duties include gathering detailed information from clients through telephone interviews; following up on client questions with attorney members and providing appropriate information and referrals to clients; provides administrative support; and maintains computerized database system and manages website content.

Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
1 to 3 years experience in client or customer service in an office environment; experience in a legal setting or paralegal training is helpful; ability to interact with low income clients and individuals from diverse backgrounds; good oral and written communication skills; proficiency in managing and creating database systems and reports; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access; Spanish language proficiency preferred; and must be able to work independently in an off campus location.
