Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for providing effective assistance of counsel to indigent persons charged with crimes in New Mexico State courts.
This position is a Pay Band 75.
Classification Description:
Public Defender 2
Minimum Qualifications:
Current license as an Attorney issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or eligible for limited license issued by NM Supreme Court.
Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Statutory Requirements:
Current license as an Attorney issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or eligible to practice with a limited license issued by the NM S! upreme Court. Copy of current license must be presented at tim! e of hire.
