Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for providing counsel to indigent persons charged with crimes in New Mexico state courts.
This position is a Pay Band 80.

Public Defender 3
Minimum Qualifications:
Current license as an Attorney issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or eligible for limited license issued by New Mexico Supreme Court and one (1) year of experience as a practicing attorney. Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Statutory Requirements:
Current license as an Attorney issued by the Supreme Court of New Mexico o! r eligible to practice with a limited license issued by the Ne! w Mexico Supreme Court. A copy of the current license must be presented at time of hire.
