Purpose of Position
This position will be responsible for all of the Securities Division's civil and administrative litigation, as well as drafting interpretive opinions, no action letters and providing advice to the Compliance Section staff. The position will also provide support to the Enforcement Section staff and attorney as needed. The incumbent will need to have a detailed knowledge of the federal 1933 Securities Act, the 1934 Securities Exchange Act, the 1940 Investment Company Act, the 1940 Investment Advisor Act, the 1986 New Mexico Securities Act, as well as the New Mexico Uniform Securities Act. In addition, the incumbent will need to have detailed knowledge of FINRA Rules of Practice and! the rules promulgated pursuant to the New Mexico Uniform Secu! rities Act. The incumbent will interact and coordinate with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, other state securities regulators and occasionally with various state and federal prosecutorial authorities.
This position is a Pay Band 80.

Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited school of law and five (5) years of experience in the practice of law.
Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Statutory Requirements:
Licensed as an attorney by the Supreme Court of New Mexico or qualified to apply for limited practice license, which requires graduation from an accredited school of law, licensure (in good standing) in another state and sitting for the next eligible State Bar ! exam.
