Our Liability Claims Representatives will:
o Conduct field or office based bodily injury investigations for individuals involved in accidents.
o Use claims handling software, company car, laptop, and digital camera to determine the value of a loss in a paperless environment.
o Use strong customer service skills to negotiate with policyholders, claimants, or attorneys to settle the claim.

If you have the following:
o Bachelors Degree.
o Excellent customer service and communication skills
o Ability to learn about insurance policies and identify how its coverage applies to a particular loss.
o Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people including policyholders, claimants, agents, witn! esses, fraud investigators, attorneys, expert witnesses and me! dical professionals.
o Valid driver's license.

Position Requirements

In a typical day a Liability claims representative:

• meets with people injured in an auto accident or at an insured’s business or home, or with

people whose auto or property has been damaged, to determine what is covered by our
insured’s policy and who is responsible for the damage, loss or injury;

• determines the value of injury or property damage and negotiates a settlement; and
• refers possible theft or fraud losses to the company’s special investigators, and identifies

financial recovery opportunities.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

To succeed, a Liability CR must:

• be eager to learn about both injury and property damage issues from the inside out;
• be a quick study: able to read an insurance policy and identify how its coverage applies to a

particular loss, and to understand and apply legal princi! ples to the claim management
process;

• enjoy inter! acting with coworkers, policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, repair

facilities, contractors, police and fire departments, fraud investigators, attorneys, expert
witnesses and medical professionals; and

• be computer-savvy: able to quickly learn and use both Farmers-proprietary and industry

software.

Physical Environment

Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but with exposure to some or all of the following environments when in the field:
Uncontrolled outside environmental conditions Excessive Noise Levels Chemicals Chemical/Biological Conditions Moving Mechanical Parts Areas considered dangerous Conditions, which could affect the respiratory system or! skin such as: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, oils, smoke, soot, or poor ventilation.

Education Requirements

Four-year college degree required.

None. Must achieve minimum passing scores on all claims training exams.
