Under the supervision of the HHS Division Manager-Court Compliance and with some direction from the Compliance Monitor Lead, monitors offenders convicted of misdemeanors for sentencing compl! iance.
Essential Duties:
A. Monitors and tracks offenders to make certain that they are
meeting the terms and c onditions set in the court order judgment and sentence, and the programs goals and objectives. Gathers information via phone call, letter or face-to-face. B. Serves as the liaison between the courts and misdemeanor offenders; appears in court to testify; may make recommendations as necessary; responsible for receipt of miscellaneous monetary payments - screenings, compliance program fees, etc.; Works with District, Magistrate and Municipal judges and other courts within Doña Ana County, as well as with other misdemeanor staff, to monitor and track offender compliance. Alerts courts to misdemeanor offender non-compliant behaviors and files probation revocations documentation. Be familiar and in compliance with Administrative Office of Courts Misdemeanor Compliance Program Guidelines and the Administrative Guide â" Local DWI Grant Program. ! C. Assists with administering a NEEDS screening assessment to ! offenders, as needed. D. Arranges and inputs misdemeanor offender information into a statewide client tracking system per the Division of Finance Administration administrative guidelines. E. Completes necessary administrative forms to ensure accurate and complete data collection. Composes correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other program related documents.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES. D elivers presentations for community awareness and education and represents the department at meetings, as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education. Bachelorsâ degree in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Family and Consumer Science, or Counseling
B. Experience. Case management experience in a probation position or law enforcement setting is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred to effectively deal with clientele.
C. Education/Experience substitution. In accordance with County policy.
D. Licenses/! Certifications. Valid Driverâs License required. No DWI conviction within three years of application and must not be convicted of such while employed in the DWI program.
E. Other (e.g., post-offer medical exam, polygraph,
background check, driverâs license record, etc.). Must pass background and driverâs license check.
A WRITTEN ASSESSMENT MAY BE ADMINISTERED
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have knowledge of court procedures, prevention methods, applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies and procedures, current literature, and trends.
Must have skill to o perate a computer using software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access), maintain accurate records; develop spreadsheets, communicate effectively in verbal and written form with others. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred to effectively deal with clientele.
Must have ability to work independently, develop collabora! tive partnerships, and maintain confidentiality.
