Purpose of Position
This position will make disability decisions for individuals applying for Social Security Disability benefits as well as conduct redeterminations for the purpose of continuing disability benefits, balancing production, timeliness, accuracy and customer service. The objectives for the position are based on goals established for the New Mexico Disability Determination Services by the Social Security Administration. The current minimum production standards for this position include completion of a minimum of 676 disability determinations per year for those with 3 or more years of disability adjudication experience. The current minimum production standards for this position after the first year of experience! include completion of a minimum of 625 disability determinati! ons per year.
Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $29.10 per hour.
This position is a Pay Band 70.
Classification Description:
Administrative Law Judges, Adjudicator-Operational
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Social Services or Labor Relations and four (4) years of experience in conducting administrative hearings, employment placement, claims adjudication and/or investigations. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
