Position Overview:
Responsible for extracting, analyzing and validating the financial lease terms for real estate leases for conversion into a new lease accounting application. This position requires critical thinking to ensure that the data from the legacy systems and databases are accurately captured. This data provides the basis for all payment information as well as the reporting requirements and financial statement disclosure for our real estate leases. The position requires strong technical and analytical skills to extract and analyze the data, and validate the results for accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possesses strong legal term and contract discernment skills and comprehension of the impact to financial accounting results.
  • Extract, and validate financial terms for all rental obligations, including rent, occupancy costs, and rent concessions
  • Manage and prioritize worklo! ad to ensure data is entered accurately and timely
  • An! alyze and interpret results
  • Identify issues and develop solutions to complex problems identified
  • Work with business partners to answer outstanding questions
  • Report regularly to business project lead on backlog issues
  • Communicate regularly with project team regarding open issues, complex terms etc.
  • Create and monitor activity with project team
  • Accountable for maintaining excellent relationships with business partners and meeting team commitments
  • Responsible for identifying and acting upon opportunities for improvement
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
Communication with various levels of the organization. Incumbent will interact with team members, and Domestic and International business partners â€" including RE Law, RE Processes management, and corporate Real Estate groups.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1)Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong experience of interpreti! ng legal documents for the purpose of the extraction of financial obligations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to obtain effective solutions
  • Ability to work in teams and assist other department staff
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel and Word. Intermediate knowledge of Financial and operational accounting systems and database applications preferred
  • General understanding of Finance/Accounting principles
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Must be able to work variable hours to accommodate deadlines
  • Previous knowledge of Real Estate Processes a plus

3)Minimum Educational Level:
  • BA in Finance or Accounting or previous applicable experience preferred
  • Jr. Attorney or Paralegal certificate or previous applicable experience a plus
4) Experience:
  • 2- 6 years Accounting/Finance experience
  • 2- 4 years previous system implementation experience
  • 2 years legal contract/ document interpretation experience (Real Estate or Commercial) a plus
