We are currently recruiting for a Development Specialist. To support agency fundraising efforts. The employee will assist and be supervised by the Development Director.Communication and Marketing:• Grant writing: Maintaining current activity of grant writing and reporting, as well as identifying new funding opportunities; • PB&J’s Heeling Hearts Dog Rescue program has its own population for grant writing and volunteer coordination; • Oversee the Corporate Campaign; • Coordinate agency’s Special Events; • Presentations to and manage Combined Federal Campaign & United Way Campaigns; • Oversee the production of the agency’s newsletter to be mailed 2â€"3 times per year while developing an online newsletter for more frequent distribution; • Support agency’s marketing efforts; • Identify prospective markets for Planned Giving. Qualifications The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.Education and/or Experience Minimum of Bachelors Degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years in fundraising. Skills ï‚§ Comprehensive knowledge of grant writing, donor relations, and special events experience; ï‚§ Ability to foster collaborative working environment between donors, staff and volunteers; ï‚§ Familiarity with donor software and proficient with computers including WORD, EXEL and POWER POINT.

ï‚§ Adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances ï‚§ Multiâ€"Cultural competence ï‚§ Constructive interpersonal communication skills ï‚§ Ability to judge personal safety and respond accordingly ï‚§ Dependability ï‚§ Understand and demonstrate agency Confidentiality and HIPAA privacy practices Bachelorâ€"â€"â€"s degree is preferred but not required. Some Spanish language proficiency, prior experience with PB&J Family Services, prior fundraising/development and marketing experience are all preferred. Attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, familiarity with the business sector, creativity, good writing skills, and mastery of Microsoft word, mail merges, excel, power point, and enjoyment of databases are all requirements for the position.
